My husband had began watching the Godfather Series that was 7 HOURS LONG! After catching up on my emails, Facebook and making soup….I began wondering when I would “Get Out!” I was starting to realize that I am not one to be “snowed in.” Thankfully, at about the same time of this realization, the snow started to taper off. Scrapbooking, making pillows, watching movies, reading assignment for my Senior Scholar’s class…. The streets were covered with a dusting of snow on our walk home. The first flakes started to fall Friday night when we were out at Giorgio’s Pizza for dinner. Next, off to the Acme and Whole Foods to stock up on ingredients for soup… actually two kinds and snacks! My husband made a stop to the State Store for some wine and Nuts to You for popcorn and nuts. They usually have GF bread from Taffets in South Philadelphia but they mentioned to me that they were out of it that evening.We were warned! We knew it was coming! I was prepared to hunker down for a day or two. First, unfortunately, I had to postpone my trip to Florida to see my BFF.

My son got a pizza, and I got Veal with Lemon. Even the chicken parmesan is crusted with parmesan cheese instead of bread crumbs! ⠀ Appetizers were served family style, there were 5 entrees to choose from and 2. The restaurant has a great space to the side that seats 35, and we were able to book it for our large party. But they do not cook with any flour in their kitchen. When my husband and I were planning our joint bachelor/bachelorette party festivities, we knew right off the bat we wanted a classic Giorgio on Pine BYOB. Yes they have regular (non gf) pasta, and yes they have regular bread. They told me that there is no flour used in their kitchen. But when you look at the regular menu, EVERY SINGLE ENTREE and almost every appetizer is marked with a "gf." They even have GF dessert (chocolate cake.) ⠀

When you go on their website, and you go to "Menus" you see "Dinner Menu" and "Gluten Free Menu" - how amazing is that! But then when you go the the restaurant in person there are actually so many more gluten free options! The items on the Gluten Free Menu are just the gluten free pasta dishes (they use Schar pasta) and pizzas.
